Besides armor tactics tank quality also matters. Japanese armor was lousy: unreliable, thin armor and
puny guns. They were totally outgunned and out armored by the T34 (which was available in some
quantities on the Soviet Far Eastern Front. I can't see how the japanese would go anywhere at all
against a Soviet army waiting for them.
