Assuming the 68000 and 68020 with a better buss for a microcomputer
design it probably would look a lot like an Amiga 1000 but -
Base memory would be 1MB instead of the 256K as it first shipped on
the Amiga. The Atari ST shipped with 512K but you need at-least 1 MB
to have a clear advantage over the IBM PC for business programs.
It would have a MIDI port like the Atari 520ST.
A socket for a math co-processor or again you can't beat the IBM PC.
Amiga's bit plane and Atari's byte plane graphics were dead ends for
high resolution graphics, the Mac method was better once you could
afford enough memory for graphics.
Amiga's DMA support for 4 channel sound, but true 16 support.
I don't know if I prefer Apple's support for floppies or the Amiga's
but both were better for users than Atari's or IBM PCs. |
