How many officers were sacked during the war? There were a more than
considerable number of pre-war purged officers brought from the camps
to the front in fact in the first 6 months of the German invasion. A
few of these were highly decorated later on.

To be fair most of such statements by Hitler were made in the last 12
months of the war when Hitler had quite a lot to regret. A lot of
these comments were recorded in works like the Goebbels diaries and
Speer's books. |
