It's worth pointing out that the entrants to the Eurovision Song
Contest has always included more countries than just the EU/EEC (e.g.
when ABBA won, Sweden was not a member of the EEC). So there is no
reason why Canada couldn't join in from the beginning.
As well as the song contest, Eurovision also came up with the show
"It's a Knockout" / "Jeux san Frontieres" . Any chance of this getting
introduced to the Americas ?
